Infinity Tower

Infinity Tower

With a 90-degree twist, Infinity Tower is the world's highest high-rise skyscraper. From its base to its summit, 305 metres (1,000 feet) above the earth, the remarkable, almost finished skyscraper spirals by an astounding 90 degrees. The seaside views from the 80-story residential skyscraper vary depending on its elevation. Surprisingly, there isn't a single structural pillar inside the structure.

Structural details of Infinity Tower

  • Site Area: 3,026.50 m2

  • Project Area: 111,484 m2

  • Building Height: 307m (73 stories)

  • Project Year: 2013

  • Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) began work on Dubai's Infinity Tower, a 73-story skyscraper, in 2006.
The tower's most notable feature is how it bends up into the sky, with each level rotating 1.2 degrees to complete a full 90-degree twist from bottom to top.

The Infinity Tower was built by SOM with the same philosophy as the Willis Tower (Sears Tower), John Hancock Center, and Lever House: a building's outer shape must be a direct manifestation of its structural structure in order for it to last. The revolving floors produce a dramatic helix pattern, emphasising SOM's design philosophy and use of cutting-edge methods. Infinity's distinctive spiral shape mirrors the ever-changing shapes of the deserts, winds, and seas that surround it, demonstrating the enormous power of design.

SOM had to face a difficulty with Infinity Tower: how to effectively regulate the strong desert heat. The looping form displays a sun-protecting structure. With addition, to give extra shade from the extreme heat, the reinforced concrete building is wrapped in metal panels and screens.

The skyscraper will include a range of uses, including luxury apartments, parking, and shops. Low-level views of Dubai Marina are enhanced, while high-rise glimpses of the gulf and city are enhanced. Its one-of-a-kind, high-strength construction enhances views while preserving nearby buildings' perspectives.

Infinity's distinctive shape and prominent position will make it one of Dubai's most iconic structures. Despite the fact that other helix-shaped structures exist, Infinity will be the world's highest twisting skyscraper.
